The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been around for many years now, the Kennel Club gave full recognition in the 1920's.  The CKCS comes in four colours:

  1. Blenheim - Rich chestnut markings and white.
  2. Tri-colour - Jet black markings and white, with tan markings over the eyes, on the cheeks, inside ears and underside of the tail.
  3. Ruby - Whole coloured, rich red.
  4. Black and Tan - Jet black with tan markings over the eyes, on the cheeks, inside the ears and the underside of the ears.
The Cavalier is an active, graceful, well balanced toy spaniel, very free in action, fearless and sporting in character, yet at the same time gentle and affectionate.
